PostSubject: CRI Minor Reopening   Sat Mar 26, 2011 7:56 am

Well guys, I think it's about time for CRI to reopen, but just a little. Me and Brett have talked about it and said we would just to get one series up and running. Our plans are just to run the series here at Solstice, under Caleb's wing. Me and Brett would like to run a Nationwide series but seeing as that there isn't a mod out yet, that seems to be a problem. So, in that case, would y'all like to run a short Truck series with the NCTS09 mod? Just to get back to the CRI basics. Tell me what y'all would like and we can go from there.

And oh, we plan to run this series on Sunday afternoons around 5:30 or 6:30 CST.

Short track sounds fun, but I think open wheel modifieds would be epic.

i would really like to do a series on sundays but not with ncts09. maybe something else but thats just my opinion. i think it would be cool if we ran dirt modifieds with an all dirt schedule or a series with the sportsman mod

How about something that we've never done at CRI, Sunset, or Solstice. What about a Sprint Car Mod Series, you know, with the big wings on the roof? Seems to look pretty cool.

I'm down for that, but I wouldn't throw out the Whelen Modifieds... that was my favorite series when we had it back in the day here, obviously, I am biased because I had more wins in that series than all of the rest of my wins combined lol

Sprint Cars sound like fun too though

Is that a new mod? Because I've tried the Sprint Car mod before it I've got to be honest, it's really lame lol

It's the OWSC mod from DEI Racing. It's really cool to be honest. I just test it out at Richmond OWR and I was turning 17.2 sec laps! I really really really like this idea!

just my opinion, if you guys start back up a series i think you should do it back on the cri forums, its been slow there lately and this would pick things back up a bit, it would be nice to get back to the good ol' days Very Happy

and that sprint car mod looks sweet. I really don't see not having a damage model being that big of an issue, we raced the roc series with no damage model Wink

OMG i would love to run that mod. i just ran Knoxville 2011 at FTR last night and the those things would be epic there. and also some people have been releasing new versions of dirt tracks like Knoxville and The Dirt Track at Lowes.

The problem I have with that mod is that the models are huge.

If we do use that mod though I certainly hope it would be a mainly dirt series with a few asphalt races mixed in. I think that would be perfect.

Well I found a better verison of the mod. It's SuperSprint, but it's got GNS physics and I don't want to run those. So I'm creating PTA physics for it. Templates are relatively easy, about the same as the 358 mod. I'll have to edit some of the track so that PTA will work on them. Other than that, I think we've got a go with this! And I'll leave it up to people if they want to open up the old CRI forums or just do it here.
